Or maybe depression keeps coming back as part of a cycle that feels like it won’t ever end, and mood swings or high energy times are scattered in between. You need targeted, effective skills to face what you're going through. Whether it’s depression, anxiety, or a bipolar disorder, I help clients identify and understand their problematic spirals, then find ways to disrupt the cycle. This makes room for new, healthy patterns, so you don't have to be in so much pain anymore.

 

In therapy, you’ll get to know the situations, events, and social interactions that trigger you, and why. You’ll learn new ways of managing difficult emotions. You’ll gain knowledge about how the mind works, which will be crucial for getting unstuck from self-critical, hopeless, and anxious thoughts. You’ll find out how to balance and stabilize your energy and mood. Sometimes we’ll focus on the present, with concrete behaviors you can put into practice immediately to improve your symptoms. Sometimes we’ll consider the past, gaining clarity about how your experiences and relationships have shaped your life now. I use research supported treatments, including mindfulness and self-compassion based approaches. Therapy with me will empower you to know yourself, feel better throughout the day, and be more effective in your life.

I’m also very transparent about what we are doing in therapy and why - no magic tricks or wizardry. You’ll learn what I know about how the mind works, and become an expert at understanding the best interventions for you.
